Privacy Policy
Spool is an offline, on-device camera app published by Six Twelve Studio. This policy describes how Spool handles information on your iPhone.
Who we are
Spool is developed and distributed by Six Twelve Studio. Privacy questions: hello@sixtwelve.studio.
Summary
- No account, advertising, analytics, tracking, or cloud processing in the current app.
- Photos, rolls, and render files stay on your device until you delete them or erase Spool data.
- We do not receive your photographs, location, or camera frames on our servers.
Data the app accesses
| Data | Purpose | Leaves device? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Live finder and capture | No |
| Photos library (add-only) | Save finished JPEGs when you export or enable auto-save | Stays in your Photos library on device |
| Location (optional) | Geotag frames when you turn geotagging on | No — embedded only in exported files you choose to save |
| App preferences | Settings such as grid, haptics, geotagging toggle | No |
| Roll and frame files | Staged captures, renders, thumbnails, journals | No |
Retention and deletion
Spool keeps your rolls until you delete individual frames, discard a roll, or use Erase all Spool data in Settings. Exported copies in Photos are controlled by you in the Photos app. Uninstalling Spool removes app container data subject to iOS backup behavior.
Permissions
You can revoke Camera, Photos, or Location access in iOS Settings. Core capture requires Camera. Export requires Photos permission when saving. Geotagging requires Location only when enabled.
Children
Spool is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app or law changes. The effective date at the top will change. Material updates will be reflected here for as long as supported versions remain in use.
